• Vast areas for the UK (including Somerset) now open to Fracking under DECC 14th Licence Round

    by  • July 30, 2014 • News

On 28th July DECC launched the 14th onshore oil and gas exploration licencing round. Exploration companies are invited to apply for licences up 28th October 2014.

Where applications represent major development, planning permission should be refused in National Parks, the Broads and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty except in exceptional circumstances and where it can be demonstrated they are in the public interest. This will be decided by the Communities Secretary, Eric Pickles MP.
